I would like to book a villa next summer abroad, not sure where yet but I keep reading peoples threads about crappy accommodation when they have arrived.
Which companies do you recommend I try?
I've never booked a villa before.

Have used flip key which is part of the trip advisor website. Booked cottages, apartments in New Zealand, Australia , Bali and Hong Kong and not had any problems.

Ownersdirect is the best IMO. However villas vary greatly. Ask the owner about the things that are important to you. Read any reviews on their site or on trip advisor.

Thanks.
I've had a look on owners direct. I shocked at how expensive a 2 bed villa is for 1 week during summer.
It's showing up about 1.5k. For a week

I used Homeaway for my accommodation and was very pleased with the standard which was exactly as described.

have used ownersdirect and homeandaway and never been disappointed by either of them. what country are you looking at?

Tinkerball · 08/08/2014 09:45

Well price all depends on location and facilities of accomodation obviously eg number of bedrooms. Where is the one you looked at, is it the South of France?

We've used Owners Direct where you book with the owner. Might be potentially dodgy but we had a lovely place in Marjorca.

I'm keen on Majorca or puglia in Italy.
I would like somewhere that has a great beach with blue see through sea!

Tripadvisor is good as you can read the reviews before booking.
