Cardiff?

Bristol?

London?

Manchester?

Edinburgh?

All big cities with night life, restaurants, shopping, culture and no doubt hotels with spa facilities

Or if you want something more low key, how about Bath?

lapsedrunner · 18/09/2006 12:44

Bath gets my vote.

I think the new spa thingy is open in Bath now - £20 for the day, might be worth looking at

I like Bath - went for a weekend with best mate while dh looked after children

This hotel is just outside the village I live in. Norwich is ranked 5th for shopping in the UK.

newcastle is very lively iin the evenings. The copthorne hotel has leisure facilities and is on the quayside which is positively jumping. The swallow hotel in Gosforth also has leisure facilities.
There are some good restaurants-the black door bistro has good food-as does cafe live on the quayside.

I've been to Edinburgh and Nottingham in the past 18 months on hen weekend and they were both excelllent, although Edinburgh was more expensive.

sorry to hijack the thread btw

Cardiff - St David's Hotel & Spa

Try laterooms for rates, then book the spa separately

Mum of3,they have a website I think.
Google Thermae Spa.

God that has been sooooo long in opening.I went to Bath three years ago at this time of year as they promised it would be ready then.

Bloody hell Puff, you're always off on sophisticated no kids allowed jaunts.

mumof3teens · 18/09/2006 18:35

Thanks moondog - I'll try that site now.

Here's some info on Bath Spa:

www.thermaebathspa.com/

It is about a trillion pounds over budget so it should be good!

mumof3teens · 20/09/2006 15:53

Thanks everyone.

I know, it is shocking! I am in Bristol so have seen the many cock-ups and delays on the news, it is embarrassing!
