How bad are the queues to get through security at Manchester Airport?

I have read on another thread that there have been really long queues to get through security at Manchester Airport recently. Are you OK as long as you allow the 2 hour recommended check-in time, or is it so bad that you need to allow extra? Does it make a difference which terminal you are flying from? TIA

Manchester is always slow, usually because the staff like to chat amongst themselves. If it's worse now, gosh.

Sorry, meant to add - the 2 hour is enough. I fly short haul most months. Wish it was more exciting than it sounded. Grin

We flew from t1 Manchester, last tuesday 29th July. Went through security at 5am in less than 10 mins. We had a pushchair so were directed through the end entrance to security with 'staff access' written above.

The queues didn't appear very big for those going through the main bit. Lots of seating on the other side though and a few shops/ places to eat that were open.

Thank you for the replies. I am a bit less worried now!

You can pay extra to fast track through security. We booked it online
