Good news - the passports finally arrived today. Bad news -- I think it is too late to book anything suitable, WAIL

That's it really. DH has 2 weeks off from 13th Aug but now unable to find anything with a 2 bed apartment that I like the look of - I'd prefer all inclusive. Please share your website ideas.

Hi,

Try holiday hypermarket if you haven't already? Or the Thomson late deals section. We too are waiting for our passports before we book. We were hoping to go away 25th of august but as we received a letter today saying we need more documents it's looking like even if they do come back before then everything will have gone for us too. The lady on the 0300 number told me yesterday that they were about to be printed - what a load of that was. They've had them in examination for 5 weeks! Sad good luck with your holiday hunting, I hope you find something.

cece · 31/07/2014 22:17

Thanks. I'll relook at the hypermarket and Thomson websites. Our passports took 6 weeks 1 day.

Were they renewals? These are 3 childrens firsts. Got my daughters 2 back in 3 weeks but these are my step children (who live with us now). I can't believe what inaccurate information they give you on that 0300 number. It's worse than useless cos you start getting excited and it turns out to be rubbish!

I found one on first choice.co.uk or teletext holidays has lots still. Hope you find something. Or even go into a travel agency. When I went in this week they had some left & the prices were comparable to online.

cece · 31/07/2014 22:55

2 renewals and 1 first child passport. Thanks, I'll check out the link.

I am just about to give up.... sigh. Gave up with online and been to two travel agents today. Nothing suitable. Plus DH and I have had a row about it as there was something suitable but he is refusing to go there. Bah.

check out eurocamp. Love them

LIZS · 03/08/2014 10:10

Could you drive ? www.pierreetvacances.com/gb-en Not AI but a variety of places with onsite restaurants and shops

cece · 04/08/2014 17:34

Thanks, but still no luck. I think the problem is DH is fussy. Eurocamp is out for him, whereas I would love it, as would the kids.

Protur has nothing affordable on their website sadly.

Centre parcs

Hulababy · 04/08/2014 18:43

Have to tried something like these for a diy holiday, teamed with a budget airline?
www.holidaylettings.co.uk/
www.homeaway.co.uk/
www.ownersdirect.co.uk/

Hulababy · 04/08/2014 18:46

There is CentreParcs in Europe: www.centerparcs.com/EN/GB/home Often better value than the Uk ones. I think CentreParcs also own Sun Parcs, and also Pierre & Vacances.

milkjetmum · 04/08/2014 18:48

We love iberostar AI resorts - have done Palma and malaga, very family friendly.

chosenone · 04/08/2014 18:52

We use love holidays or travel republic. If you filter it down to your required budget, trip advisor stars etc you should find something.
Good luck

cece · 05/08/2014 00:28

I've looked at all of those websites.

The trouble is there are 5 of us. I want AI. We both have 5 star tastes but have a 2 star, possibly a 3 star budget. I have looked at booking flight and hotel separately but the only hotels with space have terrible reviews so aren't that appealing tbh.

I might have found a self catering apartment though... need to look up flights now!

Try icelolly? You can do a search by price - might give you some ideas

Bonsoir · 05/08/2014 00:36

Lisbon or Marrakesh have lots of deals in August.
