Fabulous place. Wear shoes with good soles (trainers or similar) for walking on the cobbled streets. Food and drink very cheap - good pizza ubiquitous. Beer excellent, but also some nice wines (Germanic style). Walk, walk, walk. Be careful of pickpockets etc (but probably no worse than any other big city).

Prague is lovely and agree with Lilymaid - the only thing is it has become a bit of a "stag and hen - do" place, which can detract somewhat and the locals are getting a bit peed off with the loutish Brits on their do's - But still lovely tho'

A cheaper and not yet on the stag and hen do circuit is Tallinn in Estonia - it really is a little gem here's a link:

Prague is fantastic. Just walking around, you won't get bored because there's beautiful architecture/statues/scenery everywhere you look. Great beer, cheap food.

One tip - DON'T use taxis unless in an emergency and ONLY if you've agreed a price with the driver first. We had a scary experience and Prague is notorious for this.

Make sure you walk over Karvul Bridge (Charles Bridge) and go up to the castle.

Visit the Castle area (Hradcany) - across Charles Bridge from the main part of town and up some steep hills through the Mala Strana - castle, palaces, cathedral up there so you can spend at least half a day (getting your breath back). Good views from there over Prague.
Wenceslas Square disappointing - after all that has gone on there, the first thing you may see is a "Dunkin Donuts" sign! Interesting Jewish Quarter - worth visiting on organised tour. Lots of classical music including short concerts in interesting buildings put on just for tourists.
Loads of night life (but as has been said, avoid the stag/hen night groups). Plenty of bars, beer halls and restaurants at all prices - can't remember names of where I went, but was on busines trip.

If you're travelling about, try using a tram - we found them really easy to use.

The food is very meaty so be prepared if you're veggie.

Agree about the Jewish quarter - definitely worth a look.

Beautiful city!
