Looking for things to do in North Devon and Cornwall, not theme park type things, looking for beaches, places to eat ( that sale nice cake ), maybe a boat trip, castles or national trust type places. Both dd's have ASD and not keen on busy places so would rather stick to quite beaches and nice little cafés. We will be staying near Bude.

Any ideas?

Widemouth bay nr Bude is lovely & huge so plenty of space, and Launceston has a castle, only small but you can climb up it & get a good view. Nice town & plenty of cafés.

There's an otter park (with deer, owls etc too) in North Petherwin which is great for kids. You could drive there then go into Launceston and loop back to Bude as a good day out.

I think Launceston steam railway is still going too, that's worth a trip.

Boscastle is great, it has a quirky witches museum if your kids like that sort of thing, we always did when we were kids!

There's more, need to get my thinking cap on!

There's more

Thank you, all those sound perfect, dd2 loves nature so the otter park would be perfect, they would both like the museum and the castle.

Hi Marne2, why not check out the Mumsnet Local Cornwall and Devon sites and ask their Local Editors for some help or post a 'talk' thread for some insider local knowledge Wink.
