Quite a long shot but just posting on off-chance that someone can recommend a family-friendly hotel in a town (ideally) in the Harz mountains. Our choice of mini break destination has been dictated by where DH's airmiles can take us...

I don't know the area but why not search on booking.com. You can put all your requirements in and also read the reviews. I've always found them to be accurate!
