Looks like Simply Travel are losing Periyali Villas next year - here . I wonder if Mousses will change too?

willow2 · 12/09/2006 18:39

Most interesting. Was told that Simply had dropped Periyali... maybe that was a version of the truth?

willow2 · 12/09/2006 18:40

No good for you Cod - too far away from anything. Periyali great for toddlers etc but Mousses much better for older kids.

Milge · 12/09/2006 18:42

We LOVED it - great for 3 year olds.

Absolutely Milge - we went twice when DS was 2 and 3 and have just been prompted to look at some of the pics and reminisce about where the time has gone (DS looks so little). But once they are that bit older and can stay out later it's nice to have a bit more on your doorstep than just a few tavernas. Mousses fits the bill as you have lovely Lefkas town just minutes away and various other options within 20 minutes drive. Whereas with Periyali it's half an hour of hairpin bends to get back to Zante town. Also think Lefkas town is much prettier and nicer for spending the evening in. Large areas are pedestrianised and everyone and their uncle comes out to promenade up and down - just love that Greek/Italian vibe they have going on.

which company can you book either of these at? I haven't heard of them but am always on the look out for a child friendly nice villa type place

willow2 · 12/09/2006 18:52

Go here for Mumsnet's pic of summer sun with childcare - should have all the info you need.

coderoo · 12/09/2006 18:53

LOL at mousses being on the cheap list
fgs it cost us a fortune

coderoo · 12/09/2006 18:54

but i BET we end upt here again next year

bosscat · 12/09/2006 18:54

coderoo · 12/09/2006 18:55

(sorry moussses was fab)

willow2 · 12/09/2006 18:55

Horrifying thing is it is cheap in comparison with the Mark Warner/Club Med options. Think all these places have you over a barrel if you want some form of childcare. Take that out of the equation and watch the price go down.

coderoo · 12/09/2006 18:56

yes
but i dont want tattooed oiks

at all

willow2 · 12/09/2006 18:56

Don't ask Cod - she's only been there once...

coderoo · 12/09/2006 18:56

oh yes
am virginal

in that area

willow2 · 12/09/2006 18:57

Admittedly, or anyone with loud voices from Leeds. However, reckon you could find the same sort of set-up, without childcare, for considerably less.

willow2 · 12/09/2006 18:57

We took her Mousses virginity.

bosscat · 12/09/2006 18:58

bring on the lawyers that's what I say. will check this place out now, do you think it would be warm there in late May/early June?

Milge · 12/09/2006 18:58

Periyali was quite pricey for us - lots of lawyers though too. Nice people, but very wmc.

I checked out powder byrne last night. OUCH OUCH OUCH. There cheapest one was £1500 per adult a week. Kids were about £600 for a bed on the floor. the hotels did look fab though. but for god's sake that is ridiculous

willow2 · 12/09/2006 19:01

Warm in which one? Either can be absolutely baking by then.

bosscat · 12/09/2006 19:01

their not there

bosscat · 12/09/2006 19:02

I haven't been to that neck of the woods outside of high summer so am not sure how warm it would be. I don't mind it not being too hot but warm enough to swim and have a few bottles of retsina in the evening would be nice
