I just posted this on another thread

mp3 player will be fine, but not the playdough I'm afraid as I suspect that it will be viewed with the same suspicion as toothpaste etc.

Not sure about playdoh. My Dad was stopped from taking his paints (tempura). Do you realy want playdoh all over you on a plane? You will disembrk with green and pink bobbles stuck in your crotch.

A friend flew from Gatwick to Lisbon at the weekend and was allowed nothing except her passport.

Holidaymum · 12/09/2006 18:17

check with the relevant airport as there are some variations, mostly its back to normal but no liquids or containers that can store liquids. Most airports have an update on their website, thats your safest bet.

Flew last week with infant . As travelling alone ( no Hubby) they were leniant with the size of my hand luggage . Was allowed baby food and milk. No water though as was going to take milk powder apart just incase of delays etc. Could take nappies, wipes but airline asked no bum cream unless with medical letter !! Water could buy after security also extra milk and whatever else needed in boots !!Toys were fine and I had a camera and mobile in bag as well they were fine with that. But I would say no play dough as well as they were still strict on creams, make up , lipsticks etc all a no go.
One point everybody had to take shoes off to go through security so would suggest no laces for speed!

Have a good flight

I flew last week and the two things that are still resrticted are liquids, which includes gels, lipstick toothpaste etc. so probably playdo. The other is sharps ie scissors, nail files etc.

Ok with paper and stuff like that now. You can but liquids and stuff once through security check and take on the plane.

I flew last week from Turkey and things were entirely as normal.

womba1 · 14/09/2006 22:35

My parents have flown to Hong Kong today from Heathrow and there were no extra restrictions.

DumbledoresGirl · 14/09/2006 22:37

I flew at the w/e. They were not allowing any liquids and cosmetics, but apart from that and the usual sharp objects etc, there did not seem to be any restrictions.
