Panicking over passport - can anyone help??

Have asked on general thread, but really panicking now as we are travelling on Friday and DH still hasn't received his passport. He sent the application on 12th June via Post Office check and send.

He's called the general number a few times and keeps getting told it's been sent for printing and there is nothing more they can do.

Is there anything we can do to make sure we get the passport before Friday??

The children will be devastated if we can't go on holiday. We can't afford for him to travel separately. So we either don't go or we go on our own.

which office is it at? There are several threads with direct numbers on them

Sissyinthesummertime · 15/07/2014 10:26

I think he said Durham. I will look through the threads and see if I can find a number. Thanks.

It's so stressful!

I know this isn't any real confirmation but it may give you a bit of hope. I had a text saying my babies passport was being printed and it arrived the next day. Just popped through the door by a courier at about 4pm. I hadn't contacted them though so if I was you I would phone and harass them about it as much as possible. Good luck!

I've got these numbers from other threads:
08456015175
01913707141
and 03002220000

so going to pass to DH to try all 3 and see where we get!

Thanks suddenlysix - glad you got sorted. We haven't had a text yet though.

You need to get onto them fast.

A friend of mine is going on holiday in just over two weeks and called last week to check on her application, which was sent over a month ago, she was told it hasn't even been looked at yet and they probably wouldn't get to it for aprox eight weeks, they advised her to cancel that application and make an appointment to go to the office and do the immediate application as it was the only way she would get her passport in time.

I really hope your DH can get his in time.

Get on to your local MP. My sister was waiting for her son's passport for 6 weeks and cutting it really fine for their holiday. Three days after their MP got involved his passport went from "processing" (as it had been for weeks and weeks) to arriving at their house.

Thanks everyone. He has just spoken to a lady at Durham (got through on the 0845 number who advised she will try her best to get it to him for Friday.

It's not a guarantee though and still cutting it really short.

I am so stressed .....
