Recommendations for a good, family friendly, central-ish hotel in Boston that doesn't require me to remortgage my house?

We're only there for 2 nights so want to be near all the action - we'll be with a 3 and a 1 year old, so while being near a metro station in the suburbs would be fine for us it feels a bit too much like hard work with buggy etc in tow.

Happy to all share a room together, but all the hotels I can find are upwards of $200 a night. Any ideas from the mumsnet wisdom factory?

Have you tried AirBnB? We are staying in central Boston this August for $100 with space for 4.
