Hi,
We're booking Florida for H's 49th and our belated 10th anniversary next summer so want to make it special. We've decided on 2 weeks in the parks as H is roller coaster junkie, then a week down in Clearwater as a relaxing end. We rarely go abroad so don't want to skimp but because the last time we went to Florida was in 2002, pre children, we have no idea what it costs in terms of food!
Our usual holiday is a self catering cottage in Ireland and we take a massive shop with us beforehand so don't eat out.
How much would you estimate we're going to need to take to cover food please? We get breakfast in the hotel in the first 2 weeks.
Thanks

H's 40th, not 49th. That would be an odd birthday to celebrate...

hmm how long is a piece of string? really just depends on what kind of family you are. we are a family of 5. we bought snacks to take (discretely) into the parks and drank water as we went around. we had massive breakfasts before going in. most days we had a quick something to eat and then had our main meal outside in the evening. you can take some food in but not huge packed lunch type things.

Thanks, that's what we're likely to do too, the children are grazers.

We live on 100 a day quite comfortably, which allows for breakfast in the villa, lunch in a park and dinner out. Very little booze, and a fair bit of shopping. Petrol also. We have dh, me and dd who was 9 when we last went so on kids meals most of the time.
