Bath - recommendations of places to eat and park please

Hello - Is there anyone from Bath who could recommend a good place for lunch: somewhere where we could linger and natter?

I'm meeting up with some old university friends. We'll be travelling from different parts of the country to get there, so somewhere quite central/easy to find I suppose. I know that parking in Bath is very tricky too. What would people recommend? Is there a Park & Ride and if so, is that the best bet?

Thanks.

There is park and ride but I've never had any trouble parking in town. The cozy club has a nice ambience and is right in the middle of the south gate centre. There are LOADS if other lovely places though as I'm sure others will be along with better ideas x

Any other suggestions please?

I've just had a friend recommend cafe lucca - sorry I seem to be the only one replying!

Same same but different or Jika Jika in town, pubs Marlborough Tavern or The Chequers both slightly out of town but not far out.

I always use the park and ride rather than park in town but the new Southjgate car park is v good.
Cosy Club nice, also Bill's. there's all the usual places too and lots of the pubs are more food orientated. Kind of depends on what food you'd like :)

Was going to say cafe lucca, its very nice indeed.

Park and ride is good, one at lansdown if you're coming that way.

I'm a comparative local and also an ex resident. Compared with the 1980s, when I lived there, the parking is a nightmare! I heartily recommend the Park and Ride scheme. There are 3 I think. It depends on which direction you are coming from, but Lansdown P&R (from M4) always has places, the bus is regular (every 15 mins) and cheap. About a 10 min ride into town.

I can't recommend anywhere specific to eat, but you shouldn't have trouble finding somewhere.

When there are a group of us meeting in town we tend to eat at Jaimes or Carluccios as we have never been rushed out. Park and ride is great busses are regular and drops you in the centre.

Thanks everybody - I'll check out all the recommendations.
