Fast track application Passport horror please help

I went to the London passport office for a fast track appointment last Tuesday 24 June. i paid for the fast track service which is 7 days guaranteed. Nothing has arrived so far. I called the passport office numerous times over the past few days and their story is always the same - that I need to get through to another checking office and they will give me a tracking number that I can then check with the courier service delivering the passport. That other office is always not answering the phone, it has no separate phone number itself that members of the public can answer and the main office can only request callbacks by email. Apparently they call back in 2 days! I am so worried that my passports have been lost now as we are at wednesday night and nothing so far.

It is so frustrating to speak to the peoiple at the passport office as they just read from checklists and standard speak. there are no supervisors to be transferred to and no way of doing anything.

Anyone been through this and had their passport turn up after the 7 days service ? Apparently the passport office accept that my passports have been lost as they say it is one in a million that turn up after the 7 days but they can't even equip me to start to trace the passports.

Anyone got any ideas?
