There's in real central area. Everything is spread out. Taxi's are very cheap tho so getting around is fine.

It depends what type of holiday you are looking for too. Beach or happy with just a pool? If you want to relax on the beach then you need to be looking around Jumeriah.

We've stayed on sheikh Kalifa road right best to the Burj Khalifa in a high rise tower with a pool, in 'old' dubai next to dubai museum in a normal hotel with pool, in an apartment in Deira (near airport) & at Atlantis on the Palm.

Each time we have done the usually trips to the malls etc. Its pretty easy to get around. To give you an idea I think it took us just over an hour to get from the palm to Deira in busy traffic in a taxi which cost maybe £10 at the most.

Hi if you are going to want to go to the water parks, it is much better to stay in a hotel that includes access in the price.

Sorry I should have said Entry not Access

Thank you for all the great advice, beach sounds great! Is that near the water parks?

Jumeirah Beach Hotel is THE place for families and has free access to Wadi Wadi waterpark. It is not cheap, but I have yet to find a family that does not rate it. Christmas is ultra high season I think. Easter (getting hotter) might be cheaper or Autumn half term.

We do not have kids yet but I still love the idea of water park! Xmas does look like peak season but I have long accepted we have to stick to school holidays, even pre children! I will look at that hotel! Thank you!
