Best guide book?

I'm going to Amsterdam in a few weeks & want a good guide book - there are 3 nice neat handy ones on amazon but which is best/easiest to use?

I always go for the rough guide books when traveling. I think they are well laid out and easy to read.

ditto - always rough guide. But don't buy from Amazon, get one from the library!

To be honest Amsterdam is so easily laid out and the stuff you can find on the internet...I'd just google on the sofa and save the pennies for a beer in a cafe!! Enjoy! Love Amsterdam!

Claire, good point, but I love guide books - I read them after trips as well as before & during !

I have four shelves on my bookcase for my guide books! I think I am addicted to them. Sometimes buy one before I even book the holiday. Where shall we go next? I would take a small one for Amersterdam, especially if it is your first time because the main sights are fairly obvious! I do have the larger AA guide but if there is a DK Top 10, that may well suffice.
