Where to go beginning of August

Hi, we usually go abroad around mid April when it's not too hot.However we really could do with a holiday in the summer probably around the beginning of Aug with an 8 year old.. Can anyone recommend somewhere short haul from LOndon that has beaches that isn't 40c please? :)

Would Bugaria be very hot in August Ladywithlapdog? I've just been looking at La Touquet in France we really don't enjoy too much heat

Bulgaria would be hot though likely not in the high 30s. For France: La Rochelle and other places on the west coast would be good.
