A long weekend on the Amalfi Coast

I've got a significant birthday coming up next year. The Amafi coast with DH ( DC can stay at home) appeals.
I've been to Sorrento with my DM years ago & loved it; Pompeii, boat trips, Capri but I think we'd like somewhere smaller & a bit more glam. What are Ravello or Positano like? Ideally we'd stay in a luxury hotel with a balcony over the cliffs fantasising here. Any recommendations?

Ravello and Positano are both very pretty, but tiny. Positano is extremely touristy and right on the water, Ravello is very quiet and on top of a hill. Can I also suggest you look at Amalfi, from which its easy to visit both of the other two. Its bigger, on the coast, good restaurants, touristy, but not as crowded as Positano.

If you will be child free have a look at Ischia. Lots of thermal springs/spas. Ischia Porto and the Castello and St Angelo were my faves. Very nice food.
