Further questions. Is it worth taking a bike or hiring one?

Any places to avoid? I always end up getting lost in dodgy areas when in a foreign city.

Buses will be great so we can really see the city, any advice?

I haven't been to Paris for years apart from a day trip, I'm guessing it's changed quite a bit.
