We were going away on 14th July.
Sadly, my youngest son now needs an urgent tonsilectomy and adenoidectomy.
We are seeing the dr next week.
We will have to cancel the holiday - should get the money back though.
Any tips for late holiday deals/destinations for August?
Ideally not a long flight (2 hours ish)
Villa with pool or near a beach.
Don't mind where.
The poor dc are so disapppointed :(
Any tips for uk hols gratefully received too!

Trawl through the weekend papers, lastminute.com, booking.com, etc. Or pop into your local travel agent, if you have one. You'll find something.

:( Pierre et Vacances have deals atm for July and August - France, Spain et al. Not exactly a villa but many near beaches and with pools . Could you drive if flights a problem, especially to avoid travelling weekends in August although most villas would be full week with Sat/Sun start.

I have just booked our summer holiday, not trying to get late deal but just badly organised and suddenly thought it's nearly the summer holidays Blush

We are going to Austria for a week in August and staying in a hotel. So obviously not fulfilling any of your criteria but hopefully reassuring you that there are still holidays available Thanks

Sorry to read this, it's rubbish when you're looking forward to hold and have to cancel. I just booked our accommodation for our holiday in France next week. it's not a villa though, just a canvas holiday (a eurocamp place, but got cheaper via canvas). I was surprised at how many villas etc still have availably so late on. you'll get something great I'm sure. ownersdirect and the other mentioned above are good place to look.

Well I just did a dummy search for you on holiday hypermarket and loads of holidays are coming up for mid August.

There isnt a villa option but I put in self catering and lots comes up for apartments. Perhaps you may find a small complex somewhere.

Also, this gives an indication of flights still available - so even if you dont want the Thomson package - you at least know there are Thomson flights to a destination iykwim.

Obviously dont know where you want to fly from nor how many kids or ages but the fact is there is alot of choice of destinations with seats on planes still available holiday hypermarket

Hope your sons op goes well. I know the feeling well, We are due to go away in 2 weeks but am currently quite unwell and constantly at the Drs and wondering if we will be going or cancelling Sad

My friend took her two lo's to Egypt on a late deal. It'll be hot but the resorts are so well geared up for kids. I think the four went for £800 all inclusive, so pretty impressive.
