Thinking of going to Lake Garda next year, what is it like to drive round? and from Verona? airport?
And can anyone recommend a family friendly hotel , with pool ?
TIA

Hi Nikkie. Great choice of place to go, it is gobsmackingly beautiful. We stayed at the Lido Sun Hotel in Desenzano which was quite reasonable and they were right on the lake (south side). I don't think they had a pool but literally right on the lake. Sorry I also can't advise about driving, we didn't rent a car, just took boat trips. Prepare yourself to be knocked out by the scenery. We were within walking distance of several restaurants (10 mins max walk). Enjoy it when you go.

I went when I was preg with dd1 (put on a stone in 2 weeks!!!) Loved it want to go back with the kids (got such a fuss just being pregnant!)
Was planning to book own flights/hotel etc so would need to drive between airport and resort.

Can anyone who has been advise, is it a totaly different vib from the med, we went to a campsite near salou this year and I really didn't like it. I have always fancied Italy but wonder if I should go for a villa on a deserted hillside rather than lake garda as my tolerance level for other tourist is rather low.
