Hi

I always pack wayyyyy too much clothes for holiday.

I am going on holidays for 28 days.
My husband and 5 year old dd will follow later and stay for 14 days.

Please tell me how many clothes you would take to go for 28 days in the French alps in summer for myself and how many for my dd for 14 days.

I will have washing machine etc (staying at my mums).

I know this is a silly question but I always get so stressed about it.
Really would appreciate any advise..

Thanks

You have access to washing machine, so that makes life easier. Take a week's worth of clothes, and the same for your DD.
The weather can be changeable, so pack a mix of warm and summer clothing. Can you borrow stuff from your mum?

No can't borrow from mum.
Only one weeks clothes?????

Hmmmmmmm

I would take 2 weeks worth of clothes as I hate washing and wearing the same things all the time. How high in the alps are you? It may be warm during the day but can get fresh in the evening/morning and the weather can change easily, so think layers.

The French do adorable children clothes, I would keep some space for you DD and go shopping.

10 days worth of summer clothes top. Couple smart outfits. Couple of jumpers.,

Enough clothes for ten days will be more than ample, make sure that everything you take goes together. I do this by taking one main colour group, say black and white or grey and blue, with just the odd item such as scarf or tee shirt in a contrasting colour.
For every skirt or trousers take three or four tops that can be worn with it.

I agree about leaving a bit of room free to bring back some French shopping!

So if I take only 7 tshirts 2 long sleeves and 3 trousers should be enough?
I usually take my whole cupboard........ So silly
