Anyone been to Biarritz

Thinking of going to Biarritz next August to Campsite le Ruisseau. Has anyone been to this area and if so any recommendations. Have just returned from a great site called La Sirene in Argeles and would like to go to a site that is as good.

I went about 20 yeasr ago as a teenager and it was fantastic!!!! Quite hilly but loads to do. A friend went with her LOs 2 years ago and loved it!! I've looked at it several times in the brochures as I'd love to go back but don't fancy the drive with my Dcs on my own!

Thanks, leslaki! The reason I'm going is because Ryanair flies into Biarritz, which is only about 10 mins from the campsite- so less travel for 3 lo's.

oooh - might have to look into that next time then!

Hi to LittleMissGrumpy

Tried to PM you but it wouldn't allow me, could you let me know if there is much traffic noise at this site? It looks perfect for us apart from the website states that this site has traffic and train noise, was about to book until I read that

Grateful for any info - thinking of May half-term

Thanks

I've never heard any noise but then we go in the last week of the season, in September so it's very quiet then. The site is split into two sites, one on either side of a main road - I'd make sure you get into the side where the reception is as that's quieter than the other side. It's a drive away from Biarritz - about 15 minutes? There's only one restaurant in walking distance as far as I know and most other things are a drive away but the site is fantastic for kids - great swimming pools. The bar is fun too, very buzzing, though the food has gone downhill there in the last few years. I don't have PM set up but ask away if you have any more questions!

Actually, I've just spoken to my dad about the traffic noise - he has been going there every year for the last 20 years and he said that you can hear the traffic (it's near a motorway and railway) but he certainly doesn't feel that it's intrusive. And as I said, I can't remember even noticing it before. He thinks staying over the other side wouldn't be any worse for traffic, contrary to what I thought.
