Liverpool Passport Office Nightmare - HELP!

Hi, does anyone have a number for the liverpool passport office and how long are people waiting to get through. I've been trying a number of 08456012058 where it just rings and I'm on hold for over an hour before I get frustrated and hang up. I call the 0300 number and they are no help, they just send an email to them requesting call back which never happens. I have a holiday booked for 2nd July and becoming very worried as it is my partners first ever passport and therefore we cannot pay to fast track. Please any help from anyone or similar stories would be great. I have found another number 0872 6300200 which says its for liverpool but it seems to just sound like the same automated bit at the start when you call the 0300 number? HELP!

I'm not convinced liverpool answer any of those numbers anymore as my mate tried for days. If local I suggest you turn up and ask at the office like my mate did at the weekend. They are currently working on those flying this weekend. When did you apply? From what I've read there is a delay with the interview which is a must for all first time applicants apparently. Has he been called for interview as they have to interview him first?

yeah it seems that way with all the telephone numbers :( yeah well we live in manchester and his application is at liverpool so its not far for us to travel, i just didnt bother turning up there before because i thought they would only help someone if its a renewal passport? yeah he's still not been called about an interview yet, keep being told we jsut need to wait on an interview letter to arrive. I have my MP trying to chase it up for me but still waiting on a reply, she says she waiting on a call back from a customer service manager so dont know if this will happen or not? we applied through check and send and they received it on 14th may

There was a thread recently regarding people having interviews (on trip advisor) and they said their passport turned up very quickly once they'd had the interview. However as you've literally only got the minimum requirement of 6 weeks from application to travel and with the delays etc I'd go down there. Not trying to be negative honestly, but my mate applied for two kids first passports which are only meant to take 3 weeks but it's been four weeks and they've had to fast track as we all go on Monday - not arrived yet though. And they don't need an interview.

They have an enquiries desk and they let me mate speak to someone on Saturday regarding her applications. I think it helps being face to face! Plus obviously these are the actual people who have the info!

However it may be that the interview letter comes from elsewhere so I'm not sure tbh. Good luck though and I hope you get it sorted. Can you delay holiday if needs be as you can often do that if it's longer than two weeks to travel? If so then I think I would in your situation.

thanks very much for your info. i think when i'm off work on thursday i will take a trip down there, as you say there's no harm and it's better seeing someone face to face.

i could possibly speak to the company we booked through to amend the dates i will need to give them a ring to check just incase!

thanks very much i hope your friends childrens passports come in time as well. we all need some sun! lol

I might be wrong but I think that it is the adult applying for the passport that they need to see. they may not talk to you about it unless you are related. worth looking on line first to see what they say in the guidance before you go down and find that they wont talk to you. different if it is your children as you can do it for them.

yeah thanks i am going to go with my partner anyway so will see what happens lol

A few years ago my partner got his first passport and he had interview on a Saturday and the passport the Thursday after that. Think once they verify you are who you say you are it goes for printing. That was a few years ago though.be prepared to answer all sorts of security questions such as parents dates and places of birth and place and date of marriage.
