Anyone any handy hints for travelling to canary islands with a 1 year old?

Lots of books, crayons and paper and snacks/drinks for flight.
Take a small inflatable boat - we've done this before when dds were smaller. It's really handy when you don't want to spend time getting up and down trying to stop them getting into the swimming pool/sea and you want five minutes to relax. Fill it up with pool/sea water and put it next to you with lots of small bath toys. Keeps them happy for ages.
