DO NOT USE EXPEDIA FOR INFANT TRAVEL

I booked easyjet tickets through expedia for a few nectar points only to find that they had automatically allocated my 8m and 20m old babies with seats and we had to pay for them! I thought that they were expensive flights but didn't think to check directly on easyjet as we had to get those exact flights. ANNOYING!! Easyjet have apologised but Expedia refused to do anything about it - £350 wasted!!! grrrrrrrrrrrr

Surely Expedia should offer the refund though as it is normal to book infants as infants unless otherwise asked to book as a full fare in order for them to get their own seats?
I'm not sure how the booking process works on Expedia but did you give the childrens ages on booking?

On the plus side at least they will both have handluggage allowance and luggage allowance #clutchingatstraws

I don't get the issue. Why didn't you check before paying?

magpiegin · 09/06/2014 18:43

When I have booked flights with Expedia before there is a page where you can review your booking beforehand. Was the extra seat on there?

OwlCapone · 09/06/2014 18:45

Surly your thread title should be "have the common sense to check you have booked what you think you have booked. Especially if you think it looks expensive."

Possibly a bit wordy though.

Well played, OwlCa. Grin

Easyjet tickets do seem to be cheaper on the Easyjet site rather than on Expedia, but with Expedia, when you enter that the children are under two years, you get to choose from the following:

Children under 2 years old can travel in laps or seats

Infant(s) without a reserved seat (in an adult's lap) [the default]
Infant(s) in a reserved seat

Looks like the mistake might be yours, I'm afraid.

I'm a bit in awe that you have babies 12 months apart and are able to get out of the house, let alone fly anywhere! Go you OP!, no wonder you made a mistake on the booking.

Another one who's unsure why you didn't notice before you actually paid.
