Looking at booking this for August. We have been to the HV in Egypt when the kids were pre-school and really liked the resort and the family rooms and the kids entertainment. Have looked at TripAdvisor and mainly good reviews. Has anyone been?

we have been twice and liked it a lot. Top tip - dont book a themed family room as you dont get a balcony with it. Book a normal family/double room instead as then you do get a balcony. (we learned the hard way as we had a themed room the first time)

its the Kids den rooms that dont have a balcony (just had a look on the First Choice website)

We've just come back and have booked to go again in Auguest. Hotel spotless and good choice of pools and beach is amazing. Kids clubs and entertainment still good for the small ones and DD (6) loved the water slides. Not much to criticize really aparty from the kids juices were pretty horrible (more like strong squash). The kids didn't seem to care though.

I love: thanks for the tip. It's the kids den rooms that I was looking at too. Do none of them have balconies? At the moment the den rooms are coming up as the only rooms available.

If you look at the description and the picture on the website then it doesn't mention a balcony and the picture just shows a flat window. We had to wedge our towels in the window to dry them off a bit. Much easier to have a balcony.

You can change the type of room after you have chosen which flights you want. The other options do come up (I just tried it) - it gave options of a family room and swim up family room (both cost a bit extra especially the swim up room) but you do get the balcony space.

The only other room option I get with the dates and flights I am selecting is a Themed Family Room, which is no extra cost so I am assuming is the Den Room.

sounds like it is the kids den then.

Hersetta427 · 10/06/2014 15:26

Yes themed rooms are kids Den. We had one last week and although the room itself is Ok - we missed a balcony - we usually sit out and have a glass of wine when the kids are in bed. We booked for August when we returned and booked a family room (which does have a balcony) but beleeie they said there was one left.

You could always book a themed room and then ask when you get there to be moved to room with a balcony. FC probably aren't showing one as available as no availability for your whole stay, but you may get one as perople go home.

apologies for dreadfull typing - on phone with fat fingers!

Hersetta427 · 10/06/2014 15:28

When are you looking to do - we just booked for August 13th.

Rollergirl1 · 11/06/2014 09:43

Well we have taken the plunge and booked. Managed to find a family room with sea view with one of the flights that we wouldn't have chosen otherwise.

Hersetta: We're going August 14th!

I think the kids will have a fab time. The only thing I'm a teeny bit apprehensive about is the fact that it will be mainly Brits holidaying there. Hoping it's not too "Butlins in the sun"...... Confused

Hey - will see you there!

I think it can be a bit Butlins like, but only if you let it. We stay as far away as possible from the activity pool but we do go to some of the evening entertainment (as the kids love it).

Rollergirl1 · 09/08/2014 09:31

Hersetta: Only a few days to go. Looking forward to it. Am hoping the kids will love Kids Club and DH and I can get some relaxation time!

hope you enjoy it. It seems a long time since we went on our holidays this year (end of June) and the kids are back to school next Monday.
