Fortnum & Mason Afternoon Tea - which restaurant

As the title says really!

Has anyone been to any of them and which one would you recommend? Is for hubbies 40th treat, just the two of us :)

My Mum was visiting from Oz and I took her last June for her birthday as a surprise. We went to the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon (on the top floor) for afternoon tea.

It was fantastic, the service was first class as was the afternoon tea. They kept the tea coming and didn't hurry us out once we had finished.

The lovely thing about it is the tables are nicely spaced apart so you aren't sitting too close to the people next door. Also they had a bloke playing on a grand piano in the foyer bit whilst we waited to be seated.

We had booked (a must I think as lots of tourists this time of year and they were turning people away who hadn't) and turned up about45 mins before our allocated slot but couldn't get in any earlier so my Mum sat and listened to the pianist whilst I had a look around. They really have an eclectic (expensive) range of items on some floors...

One thing I would do differently is wear trousers with an elasticated waist or a loose dress next time. I was so full at the end I thought I was going to explode. I would definately go again.

We did the top floor a few weeks after in opened. We took DD (who was about 16 months at the time) and it was lovely. We all had a great time and we're well looked after.
