I am going on holiday on Friday and still haven't got my passport. Passport been with them for over a month. I have phoning the advice line for over a week and a half trying to get in touch with duram for a call back.no one has called me back, they said it would only take 48hours. They said it was also passed over to a manager because I had waited so long, still no call back. Have phoned over 20 times and no one can seem to help me it's ridiculous. Has anyone ever drove to duram without an appointment, with money for upgrade and been successfull in obtaining a passport?

08456015175 Durham number, ignore the message about receiving a letter and they will answer eventually. Some people hold two mins other 45 but it will get through to he direct team you need. U can upgrade it for £60 to be couriered out within 48 hours or if not enough time for that you can collect it. Hope this helps x

I agree, call the direct durham number. They are the only ones that have upto date accurate information. I called Durham yesterday after a 4 week wait for daughters passport and was told a letter was sent on Monday for extra info for countersigner. I called the 0300 number yesterday evening and today with some questions and both times they said application is fine no problems and it's just in a queue. If i hadn't called Durham I wouldn't even have a clue that a letter was sent to countersigner...Thank goodness I do know because I've now been able to tell her to expect a letter and to send it back ASAP. Durham office open at 8am on the dot. It's a 0845 so it's not ideal as it will cost you. The average wait on hold is 30 min-1 hour. However I called Tuesday morning at 8.02 and waited only 15 mins until someone answered. Only they can give you accurate time scales, advice and information. 0300 are useless! I actually received one of their infamous callbacks today and it was pointless. .didn't get anywhere and when I asked for timescales I was given guesses. Call 0845 direct and hopefully they can sort something out for you
