Hello everyone.

After trawling the site as recommended by another mum I have found all sorts of helpful info regarding passports and direct numbers.

Unfortunately I cannot find one for peterborough (or may be blind)

Pretty please could anyone help me !!!

We supposedly travel a week tomorrow and passport for youngest child still in examination.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Claire (new to this)

Just for anyone else in same posistion the number to call is 08456015549 you can get it upgraded on this one. Just keep on hold and ignore the message regarding letters.

I'm so annoyed with trying to get Peterborough to call me back! Now only 9 days away from holiday and no child's first passport! How long in working days does the upgrade take please?

Cbirch1 · 03/06/2014 21:18

Heavern77 call the number above and hold the line throughout the messages, ask for an upgrade as u travel in 9 days and they will do it same day or next day and then either 48 hour courier it to you or collect in person. U have to talk directly to them on this number above or you will never get your call back!!! This works I promise, I travel on the 9th and until yesterday morning my daughter had no passport,24 hours later it was in my hands.

Can I just ask how long it took from sending your application in? DD2's application is with Peterborough. We don't go until the end of July, but from reading all the horror stories on here I can't help but worry that I left it too late. Our application went in 10 days ago.

Cbirch1 · 03/06/2014 21:50

I left it late, granted. But it was over 3 weeks almost 4. I'm sure you will be fine but if i we're you If you don't get it by beginning of July then you could start to badger them for it! If I didn't intervene it wasn't due to be looked at until the 20th of this month! I think they are just overwhelmed

Thanks cbirch1, ill be on that number from tomorrow morning! Do you mind me asking how much the upgrade is that I need to pay and the 48hr couriers revive charge? Wish me luck getting through!!

thatsnotmypineapple · 03/06/2014 21:59

Thanks. I was thinking that I will start hassling at the beginning of July. I know they have received it, and have given it at least a cursory look, because they wrote to say I hadn't sent the right bit of her birth certificate. I posted the correct one on Saturday, so fingers crossed they will now process it.

Cbirch1 · 03/06/2014 22:05

Heaven77 you will get through eventually and it was £60.50 including the courier. She told me that the rules in their office change all the time but at the moment that's how much it is!
Thatsnotmypineapple yes atleast it's there and they have obviously looked at it so I would think you will be fine! Good luck both of you!!

This is really urgent . Hope someone can help . I have sent in 3 applications the first one which was handed to the passport office my mum signed in section 9 where I should sign as I am over the age of 16 . Then about 1 month later received a letter from Peterborough saying we can't accept this application and sent another form and higlighted the sections which I need to fill in . I filled that application up where the person higlighted which sections I needed to do . Then about 3 days later I received a call from Peterborough office saying you need to send in a application urgently and was told to get new photos and fill in the section which he told me too. Then sent it to the urgent team in Peterborough and was told I would receive a call when it was received . I need my passport now . This is my first passport and going on holiday in 7 days

Olujimijordan · 10/07/2014 19:31

Just spoke to Peterborough they told me an examiner will cal me and tell me about an interview they said the examiner decides weather you have the interview . As I am going away on holiday in 5 days . What do you think ??

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/07/2014 11:24

Olujimijordan I'm afraid if your application is for a first adult passport, they advise that it takes 6 weeks to process. I'm not sure if you can fast track on this type of application either but it's worth giving it a try. Good luck.

Olujimijordan · 12/07/2014 15:12

I have an interview Monday and flying on the Wednesdays. Is it possible tobget my passport in time

CloserThanYesterday · 16/07/2014 06:57

Just wanted to say thanks for making this number available, it's come in handy for me too! I managed to speak to somebody yesterday and expecting a call today to arrange my upgrade.

They told me I would have to pay, but they should be doing free upgrades if you are travelling within a week and they've had your application for longer than three weeks shouldn't they?

Kelly2008 · 05/08/2014 09:53

What number u guys have I'm so worried suppose travel Saturday don't wanna leave my baby behind

Seasidemum123 · 05/08/2014 10:53

Closerthanyesterday - I have the passport now, but was told if not received before 7 days before travel, the fasttrack will be FREE. This is for a childs first passport, 6 weeks after application...
