Union lido with no car ?

Is there anywhere within walking distance off camp? How far is nearest town? Or can anyone reccommend a similar site with nearby bars/restaurants /shops please?

We did it with no car. To be fair, the site is vast and we never set foot off it in a week. We never even did the trip to Venice. There is a bus that runs along the main road outside the site that runs to towns up and down the coast. There wasn't really anything within walking distance - that stretch is mostly campsites. There was plenty to do on site though. Portofelice has been recommended to me before - and apparently is in walking distance of town.

Yeah Portofelice is fab, smaller but plenty to do and you can walk into Eraclea Mare in 5-10 mins. Take a torch for the beach pine walk though but main road is well lit! Would thoroughly recommend!

Main buses stop outside camp site too!

We have been to Union Lido three times (just back from our third trip on Monday!) and have never hired a car. To be honest, we mostly stay on site with a day trip out to Venice or one of the islands which you can organise from the information office. It's a great site with lots to do so no real need to leave. There are regular buses to Lido de Jessolo though if you feel the need to get out for a while.
