Can you recommend anywhere?

Pref a nice plush sort of place, hopefully just for one night as due to work /childcare will only be able to get away the sat night.

Hopefully looking to budget about £160?

Any recommendations? Not planning on doing much as will be child free so want a nice space as we will veg out, read papers, walk tpo pub, drinkl etc etc Grin

Cranleigh in Windermere looks nice. Or slightly further in to the Lakes (and more scenic) there's the Daffodil at Grasmere.

I've been looking too, and came across this. Any good?

I have no personal experience, but DBil and his partner went to the Daffodil in Grasmere this spring, and had a heavenly time. Apparently it's quite a new hotel so has all mod cons. And good spa.

We normally stay in The Swan in Newby Bridge which is gorgeous and is great with or without kids. Even if you go there without kids it is the sort of place that you wouldn't notice kids or realise it was child friendly, so it's not intrusive if you're escaping from the kids. It's so beautiful inside and lovely food.

My sister recently stayed at this place and said it was gorgeous:

Amazing breakfast and theme rooms, and they don't allow kids! www.compstonhouse.co.uk/
