HELP! Does DD's carseat count in baggage allowance?

Flying with British Airways shorthaul and I'm having a panic because I booked 2yo DD and I hand baggage only and we need to take her carseat with us as we're visiting family. I have a horrible feeling that I've misread their policy and the carseat allowance is only if they're under 2 and I can't get hold of BA on the phone. Does anyone know? Am I going to have to pay excess baggage?

No it doesn't.

Meant to add it applies to children up to 11.

Thanks bob - sorry, do you mean that I'll be ok and I don't need to pay for it?

Yes it's free, in addition to hand luggage. You can also take a buggy free if you want to.

I love you all. Thank you so much - I should just always ask Mumsnet!
