Log Cabin

We want to go away Oct half-term (I know - probably left it too late to book!). I've always fancied a log cabin, and have previously had a brochure for a company that had a number of "sites" with log cablins (nice ones) round lakes. I've googled but can't find it. Any suggestions/recommendations please?
I would like to go lake district, dh would prefer wales, but to be honest if it was nice enough and there was enough "to do" in the area, i wouldn't really mind where it was!

we used

Pinelodge Holidays for our last family fling as a threesome before no.2 arrived... it was very 'bijou'... but suited us well... one thing you have to watch out for is that the one we stayed in only had a shower...no bath which would have been preferable with a 2 yr old in tow... we stayed in the Derbyshire one near matlock

and... we've just returned from Criggan Mill in Cornwall, The lizard... which were fanatastic... very basic but very clean and nicely furnished... not to mention that i loved the lizard...! fantastic beaches galore.. kids went mad!

my sil and family have been

here she said that they were quite basic but the location fantastic...

just bear in mind that oct is low season and not many places are open and things are quite quiet... we have found this out to our cost as we have generally holidayed during low season and ended up in a toy museum on the isle of skye - in reality a middle aged mans front room filled with the bizarre and strange... !!!!... and even more mortifying instead of being able to make a quick escape we got the guided tour as we were the only 'visitors' at the time....
