Anyone taken just hand luggage with kids?

Hi all
Just some advice or tips please - we are heading to Ibiza for a week and I was hoping to just take hand luggage. My main worry is its just me and the kids - aged 6 and 8. If we all take a bag each, I was thinking about getting up and down the plane steps. I was going to get a rucksack with wheels so at least I could sling it on my back and carry up the other 2. It just all feels so rushed getting to the plane and I have visions of me getting stuck with all this hand luggage

We did a few times.used trunki for the kids sp we could put it on our shoulder if needed.summer clothes don't take so much space,it is so much better not having to queue at luggage drop in,then wait to pick it up??

No. Would absolutely not consider it. I like a holiday to start well, not with a huge amount of hassle! Hand luggage with children is a massive hassle.

At 6 & 8 the DC should be able to manage a wheeled bag through the airport. Depending on the weight, the eldest may be able to carry their own up the plane steps, and you take the other two.

You will be fine with that - they can pull their own cases (DD is only just under 3 and can pull hers, albeit slowly!). You will also have the trolley to help as well. I'm nervous with a car seat, buggy and my case but at least I know DD will have fun pulling her own!
