Hi . Travelling with DH and DC, age 10 to Borneo to stay in Rasa Ria in Sabah region, does anyone have advice on vaccinations. Is this a malarial area. GP is giving conflicting advice

We stayed at Rasa Ria (fabulous place!). No malarials were taken. But do take medical advice, as the situation changes rapidly.

Sorry, didn't read properly. We didn't have any vaccinations but usually keep up to date with all of them anyway.
Better safe than sorry with malaria tablets. If in doubt, take them.

I have been there and my gp said no malaria risk. I live I'm china and all my jabs are always up to date. Typhoid, hep b and tetanus are the ones I would make sure you are up to date with.

There is generally no malaria in the main tourist areas.

It is however present year round in more rural areas.

Prophylaxis no usually recommended for tourism, but if you have any flu like symptoms in the weeks after return you should be tested.
