Easyjet flights and transporting carseats

Oh, sorry for the super dull title.
I'm struggling with booking a hire car for out holiday. I've 2 dcs, and need to take at least one carseat (dc1 might be ok with a booster seat, which seems easier to hire)
I know I can take a carseat, but it's an isofix. So it's in two parts IYSWIM, the seat and the base. Do they count this as one item?
On our last holiday we ordered seats through the car hire company but it was a nightmare and the baby seat was shit.
Has anyone else taken an isofix seat? What do you do about car hire overseas whn you need carseats?
Thanks v much in advance.

Hmm. We flew easyjet recently and just took the seat and not the base. So used seatbelts to secure it. It didn't occur to mr tbh to take the base. Think you will need to speak to easyjet, I suspect they would not be keen as awkward size and very heavy. Not essential but I put the carseat in a bag to travel whereas you'd struggle to bag up the base, though if you did manage to bag it somehow with the seat they may not bat an eyelid.
I think it would be difficult to guarantee the base fitting the hire car.
