Hi, after the good news that my husband is in remission yday we feel we can now book a much needed holiday. Budget is £4000, I need ideas, recommendations of a short haul holiday for 5 of us, would like at least 10 days, something to keep the trio interested but where we can hopefully relax. Is this going to be possible? We couldn`t do too much driving. Is this going to be possible? Thanks :)

We have just come back from a mini-cruise. Was so relaxing, we drove to barcelona as we live in france, but is worth checking out cruises leaving from southampton, or take a cheap flight to barcelona. There were loads of children, form babies upwards and there are special kids clubs for both younger children and teenagers.

check out some destinations on :www.cruisecritic.com/

Other place I was going to suggest was Ile d'Oleron in France, but not sure if that will be too much driving to get there, but at least you will have your car.

Thanks squidgy, we have thought about a cruise, dd is adamant she would hate it, and be seasick! It would be such a treat for me, no cooking is very appealing :)

how old is your DD? everyone was really young on our cruise. looked like there were hen parties and all sorts. barcelona itself is a great city to start and end for a day or 2.
The boat is so huge, that the teens can do their thing all day long - they just need the card which covers everything (you have to budget for the drinks package - about 15 euros a day per child, 23 euros per adult but fully worth it on costa cruise.) you only need to meet up for dinner if you want Grin

we went on an italian ship, costa luminosa, the food was amazing, although hard to get a table for breakfast (self service).

Have a look at the july sailings from barcelona

you and DH could get a balcony cabin for about 1200 usd each and the kids would have a triple (2 singles and a bunk) interior cabin for about 800 usd each

Centerparcs?

Croatia. They could snorkel till their hearts content. There are enough beautiful towns for days out. Think some budget airlines fly to Pula on the Istrian peninsula. Lots of accomodation around there.

definitely second vote for cruising our dcs love it dd12 ds14. the kids clubs go up to 17 and are brilliant -e.g. late night parties, dj-ing, sports competitions, midnight swims, opportunities to make friends and spend time away from parents, chance to glam up etc etc (bet your dd would love it)
plus the food is yum. loads to see and do/or just chill at the different stops and the spa/coffee shop for relaxing in.
we are going on our 4th next Saturday :)

We are cruising the Adriatic with Thompson in August which might just about come into your budget. Chosen for the amazing ports of a call and hopefully fairly calm seas!

Hi triplets

Do have a look at cruises. We have been on P and O. Have a look at oceana, going out middle of July for 12 nights. Just over budget.

Slovenia? About the size of Wales and easy to get around. White-water rafting, kayaking, hiking, visiting caves, castles, small coastline. Look for a self-catering apartment.
