Am I being really stupid? Camping holiday in France in my own caravan?

I'm after somewhere to go with my parents in law, my 1.5 year old son and my own DF. I found a list of mumsnet top 5 camping holiday destinations in France but they don't seem to let you take your own caravan or tent? It seems more like a centre parcs set up?

Does anyone have any recommendation for somewhere that will cater for all of us? Thanks.

Whereabouts do you want to go, there are plenty of campsites in France where you can take your own caravan. Do you belong to either the Caravan Club or the Camping & Caravan Club as they can book sites for you & do ferry/eurotunnel deals.
