A couple of years ago, we stayed (before we had baby) on a farm in Tuscany with our in-laws at a farm run as part of the agricultural tourism industry there. have you been to one of these? I'm attracted to this style of holiday because there'll be other children around, plus usually a pool, although no organised childcare & it's self-catering
