Has anyone flown recently? Hand luggage confusion

I have looked at the BAA website but I am completely confused on what you can now carry onto the flight. There is a list of permitted and a list of not permitted items. What does it mean for all other stuff. For example can I take crayons and paper and a stuffed animal and other toys on the plane with me. What about a baby sling, they talk about buggies but not slings. I was planning to take a summer stroller for my toddler and the baby carrier for my baby. I am flying out of luton with easyjet next monday.

only things NOT permitted are any forms of liquids including lipsticks/vaselines/creams. I dont know abot crayons as they are really a solid form of liquid although im sure pencils would be ok.

you will be ok with a sling- just be prepared for vigorous security screening including removal of shoes.

Just getting a little stressed about travelling with two under two. I've done the eldest on the plane before and that was hard - now two is probably more than double trouble!!
Thanks for your help!
