Getting to National History Museum in London

Hi, we fancy stopping here for a visit on the way back from our summer holiday in France, as we live in Scotland we don't get much opportunities. Obviously we will have the car and no way want to drive into London, never mind finding somewhere to park. So what station/tube station would be good to park at , closer the better that we can travel to and from? Thanks

I''d go straight home....NHM on the holidays will be a NIGHTMARE for a flying visit.

What day of the week are you thinking of going?

MillyMollyMama · 09/05/2014 01:27

South Kensington underground station is on the Piccadilly Line so I would consider parking at Park Royal underground station. You can usually find spaces fairly near the station. Much further into London and parking could well be restricted. Alternatively, park at Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherds Bush. Get the Hammersmith and City Line from Wood Lane or Shepherds a Bush Market to Hammersmith and pick up the Piccadilly line from there. Parking all day at Westfield was £6 last week. It is just off the A40 and well signed.

Haha Cats! My DH is determined to "do" something in the South. It will be Tuesday 15th July so I was hoping the English schools wouldn't have broken up yet. Millymolly thanks so much for that info, will check it out!

if you are coming from Calais, I would suggest taking the M25 anti clockwise and parking up at Forest Gate tube carpark.

NigellasDealer · 12/05/2014 12:39

private schools will have broken up but not state schools

StandsOnGoldenSands · 12/05/2014 12:40

Do you mean the Natural History Museum?

Tinkerball · 12/05/2014 16:24

Thanks Nigella, but can't seem to find that, google only coming up with a Forest Gate train station which doesn't have a car park.

Milly just googled the Westfield shopping centre, that looks ideal!

oh sorry I think I meant Upton Park.
My family who live out in Essex regularly drive there and park and then take the tube.
