First time legoland visit

Just booked a premier inn for a trip to legoland. The Friday of the May half term, DS1 is 4 and DS2 is 18months.

Wondering how hellishly busy it will be in the school hols, and should we expect lots of waiting? DS1 is far from a thrill seeker, bless him, so I suspect lots of the rides won't be his thing (he's a massive Lego fan though so I'm hoping the whole thing will still be exciting for him).

We are using vouchers so can't book online, will need to pay on entry.

Any tips for a Legoland virgin?! Is everything very pricey, guessing a packed lunch might be the way to go.

TIA

There are lots of non ride things to do. Lots to see and do a room to build lego cars and race them the model village. Queues are usually quite long in the holidays. I'd recommend getting there no later than opening time and buy tickets in advance so you can go straight to the barrier with your barcode and scan straight in.

Go straight to the Atlantis ride as soon as gates open. Also the boats and driving school.

The buffet restaurants are ok and also the burger shack at the back of the lighthouse/show area the kids meal is more than enough for an adult chicken strips or a burger fries an apple and a drink for about £5.

Oh sorry just seen the bit about having to buy on the day. Definitely get there early then.

Might be worth checking if you can buy the tickets the day before and go back with the ticket on the day?

Are you taking another adult as well? Just that at 18 months your DS2 may be too small to go on a lot of the rides that your DS1 wants to (we went recently with our 2.5 yo twins and poor teeny tiny DD wasn't allowed on many of the rides!).
We didn't arrive til 1130am as we'd had a lazy morning and the queues to get in were fine, but some long queues for the rides
There is a water area in the duplo bit that you need swimwear for if you want to go in
Have a good time!

Yes DH going too, so we can hopefully keep little Ds2 busy between us. Great tips so far, many thanks.

Can't go the day before and pick up tickets unfortunately as we are travelling from the south west that morning and having an overnight - quite excited at the thought of a little family adventure and staying in a hotel, even a crappy premier inn!

Will set off early early from here and should arrive around opening time.
