Worth booking seats?

There are 8 adults and 2 children (3 and 15 months) going to Florida soon, in a couple of days the ability to book seats becomes available but it's £25 each...

I had an idea that as long as our DD's were sitting in between us they would be about more controllable but it's a lot extra?!

Or is it?

Would you do it? (With Virgin)

You could book 4 seats for 2 adults and the 2 children then at least some of you could be guaranteed to be with the kids. isn't it £25 per seat each way? they will sit one child next to an adult at least I am sure. however, too many horror stories on here to risk it imo. wouldn't book for all 10 people to be together though.

Think it is indeed £25 per seat each way. I would try and book all your own family together. BTW I am wondering what the position is re your 15 month old; VA may expect you to have this child on your lap.

The others could likely be split up throughout the plane.

I've flew 7 times with Thomas Cook to Orlando and I've never once booked seats, we've always been sat next to each other.

Did you pay to book a seat for the 15 month old otherwise they will be on your knee anyway.

PestoSunnyissimos · 06/05/2014 14:15

Well it's a lot extra. You could always wait until online check-in and sort it out for free?

We're going to Orlando with Virgin in October and have paid £30 each for extra legroom seat (4" extra legroom for £30 I reckon it's a bargain!) Some are ok for kids too (DDs will be 5 and 7). They may not have any availability (we've booked the slots but actual seats aren't bookable till June I think) but it's worth a consider if you'd be looking at £25 anyway?
