2.5 days (Fri, Sat, Sun) staying in a hotel on the waterfront near Nyhaven.

Please suggest an itinerary!

Dd loves the HCA connection.

Also, how much cash ought I to take?

Cash - take as much as possible. Or have a card ready for the ATM. Scandinavia is never cheap :-)

Itinerary: take an open top bus tour and then go and look in more detail at what interests you.

I took DD2 there last year when she was 12.

We went to the little mermaid, the zoo, the national gallery, and assorted castles and palaces. The rundetarn (sp?) is amazing.

We used the Lonely Planet guide. It has a detachable street map, which is really useful.

Have a lovely time!

I was intending to rely mostly on my debit catd, as I don't like carrying large amounts of cash.

Boat tour round the city (starts from Nyhaven) and the Tivoli Gardens (the inspiration for Walt Disney).
