Best hols for family with only teen?

When DS was little we did the likes of Mousses and periyali villas a couple of times - and that mix of personal space plus the chance to socialise worked really well for him and us. As he got older we veered towards villa holidays and had some lovely, very chilled out holidays. Now he's 14, though, 2-weeks in a villa - just with us - may well do his and our heads in. He suggested going back to Mousses, until I pointed out that he would probably be the oldest child there by half a decade or so. Have any of you found a "grown up" Mousses (does such a thing exist?) or anywhere that will give us that mix of our own space but plenty to do should any of us want to do it?! Am considering the likes of Neilson and Mark Warner - but also interested in locations that might offer up enough new experiences that hanging out 24/7 won't be seen as the worst holiday ever.

I've been looking for somewhere to travel with my teen (just the two of us) and a lot of people have suggested a cruise?? Lots to do, chance to make friends, have some independence etc. My other option is to take a friend with him - would that work for you?

Thanks for your suggestions. DH also suggested a cruise - on a ship, just to clarify - but I don't think it's for me. We have also done the "borrowing other people's kids thing" over the years. Worked brilliantly in the past but not right for this time around.

Anyone else?

How about a city break? We've been to Munich a couple of years ago and we're off to Berlin in a few weeks and Stuttgart later in the year. I prefer city breaks, as DC can wander off and meet up with you (if they remember) and there are normally places for us old 'uns to sit with a coffee and newspaper.

Might not be your thing, but what about a festival?

I took my daughter greek island hopping when she turned 13, she says it was the best holiday ever!

Thanks for suggestions. Like city breaks but not for this hol. Ditto festivals. The search continues.

Recommend Oceania Club Halkidiki. Rooms in deluxe block good for teenagers.

We went the the Paphos holiday village last year. They have a teenage sort of hangout club where they can join in with as little or as much as they want(life saving, football etc) or just hang out together. Spotless complex and lots of pools, might be worth a look at that or another holiday village.

We're doing an activity holiday in the French Alps this year with another family with teens. Would that work?
