Morning all

I haven't had a holiday since 2008 and I have been struggling with sleep and just feel I would really benefit from getting away for a relaxing holiday before my little one arrives. I am currently 27 weeks pregnant and would be looking to be travelling around the 18th of may when I am 30 weeks pregnant. I have had no complications and so far fingers crossed and very straight forward pregnancy. I have looked into travel
Insurance and can get this very reasonably priced as it covers pregnancy up to 32 weeks. I have already booked week off work from the 19th of may so won't be flying later than 30weeks +6. I know each airline varies but I think most require a note stating I am fit to fly from 28 weeks. I would like to get hols booked ASAP, my midwife app is next week. Has anyone had problems getting a fit to fly certificate or are thy quite common?

Many thanks xx

I had to get a fit to fly letter from my doctor as I was living in Turkey but was returning to the UK for the births of my baby, I was 34 weeks and had no problem getting the letter.

As long as you are fit there should be no problem getting the letter.

There shouldn't be a problem getting a note provided you're healthy.

Make sure you take your maternity notes and that you know where the nearest maternity hospital is to where you're staying.

Double check your insurance policy. Make sure it covers the baby if it's born abroad, check it covers medical fees and repatriation for the baby if necessary.

Happened to a friend of mine. She was very glad she'd done all this beforehand.
