Myself and DP have booked 10 days in Playa de las Americas (sp?) in Tenerife at Oct half term. First beach holiday for DSS1 who will be nearly 11 and DSS2 (9).

Any advice or recommendations of what to do or see? To say the boys are excited would be a big understatement!

Thanks Smile

This will be our 5th year in a row going to Tenerife in the October half term. The temperature is lovely at that time of year. Part of the attraction for us is that there isn't loads of things to see and do - this is our relax holiday.

However for excursions - Mount Teide the volcano is worth a visit, apparently the night time trips are good if your boys would be up for it, Siam Park is an excellent water park although it is pricey, they might do reduced ticket prices for return visits so it may be worth going near the start of your holiday.

Enjoy.

I think they have already looked up Siam park on YouTube! Definitely in the list of places to visit. Volcano at night sounds very interesting as DSS1 is revisiting an interest in dinosaurs again at present - thanks for that :)

Do you know of anywhere they might be able to swim with dolphins?

Thanks again Smile

Just googled it - apparently you might be able to swim with dolphins at acqualand, the other somewhat less impressive waterpark in Tenerife.

You could take a boat trip to see whales in the ocean. Much nicer than the awful conditions the dolphins at aqualand and loro parc are kept at.

mine enjoyed watching the surfers at the end of playa de las Americas beach.
and definitely Siam park we all loved it, best waterpark we have been to. The rides are amazing, the wave machine is really strong can knock you off your feet- great fun though :)
