Is anyone familiar with Seville?

We will be spending 3 nights in Seville in June with our 9 year old and 15 year old, before heading to the Costa del Sol for a week. I'm trying to get a 2 bed apartment for those 3 nights which is not a problem, but as I'm not familiar with the layout and general areas of Seville I can't tell what the locations are like. I would like somewhere central and accessible and relatively safe to walk around at night time with kids - i.e. not in the middle of a nightclub area.....
We are also debating getting a car from Seville airport rather than waiting until we are leaving Seville as it works out cheaper, but then we would need somewhere with parking, so it's probably pointless.

Also if anyone has tips of what to do/see in Seville that kids would like, would love to hear it!

I would aim for somewhere near or in the Barrio Santa Cruz for the full Seville experience. There are lots of lovely tapas bars and will be full of families out for the evening vs lairy drunks.

Isla Magica The Alcazar. The cathedral and the climb up to the top of the Giralda tower. A buggy ride to the Plaza D'Espana where you can rent pedaloes. The bull ring? Lots of lots of lovely tapas eating and sherry drinking (well the grown ups)

If you look on Booking.com there are lots of apartments listed with parking in the old town. I would use the Cathedral as a central point - somewhere between there and the Plaza D'Espana would be ideal.
