Good places to take a 10-12 month old

I was wondering if anyone could offer suggestions of good places for a family holiday outside of school holidays for 2 adults and a (currently) 6 month old boy. We are happy to fly but probably looking at European destinations mainly. In terms of accomodation we'd prefer self catering and ideally a private pool (although this is not a deal breaker) and an location where we could walk with a buggy to some bars and restaurants. Clearly with a nipper clubbing is off the menu but a nice meal in the evening would be nice! I've tried searching online but there is so much information that it is hard to narrow the search down! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

as he won't know or care as long as he is comfortable, fed, clean and has space to crawl or toddle - where would YOU like to go?

June and September are beautiful times in Greece and there is plenty of self-catering accommodation there. Islands without airports are the quietest but that probably isn't practical for you, but avoid the kiddie-drunk resorts (there aren't that many) and most places will do what you want.

When dd was little we went to Antibes/Juan les Pins, Sardinia and Ceriale on the Italian Riviera - all of those would meet your criteria an have gently shelving sandy beaches.
